UI Researchers Seek Men And Women For Blood Pressure And Diabetes Study
Men and women ages 30 to 80 who have type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure are invited to take part in a study being conducted at the University of Iowa College of Public Health.
The study will evaluate the effects of two approved blood pressure medications on blood sugar control. Participants will be asked to make 12 or more visits to the Lipid Research Clinic over the course of seven to 10 months with most visits one to four weeks apart. Qualified participants will receive a physical exam, ECG, blood work evaluation, chest x-ray and medication for high blood pressure. Compensation will be provided.
