UI Film Series Features Three Female Directors
Three female directors will be featured this spring in a series of films screened at the University of Iowa. The screenings are part of a seminar focusing on the work of Dorothy Arzner, Ida Lupino, and Lois Weber offered by the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts and Sciences department of cinema and comparative literature. The screenings will take place every Thursday night at 7 p.m. in 101 Becker Communication Studies Building.
Arzner, Lupino and Weber are the only three women who directed Hollywood film on a continuing basis between the 1910s and 1960s.
