O'Neill Appointed Nurse Manager of Pre-Admission Case Management Program
Linda Q. Everett, Ph.D., associate director and chief nursing officer at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, today announced the appointment of Peggy O'Neill as nurse manager for the newly formed Pre-Admission Case Management program.
O'Neill received her bachelor's degree in nursing from the College of St. Teresa in Winona, Minn., and her master's degree in nursing from the UI College of Nursing. She joined the Nursing Services and Patient Care staff of UI Hospitals and Clinics in 1987. She has served as a staff nurse and nurse clinician for general medicine and renal inpatient units and as a nurse manager for inpatient and outpatient units including medical gastroenterology/hepatology, cancer, bone marrow transplant, medicine and dermatology.
In her new role, O'Neill will oversee the UI Hospitals and Clinics admission review and certification process, along with the Bed Placement and Transfer Center now under development. The Pre-Admission Case Management program is part of the Continuum of Care Management program that oversees the complete process of care provided to patients.
