Printer/Engraver's Work Shown At April 7 Meeting
The work of Wisconsin printer and wood engraver Gaylord Schanilec will be discussed at the next meeting of the Iowa Bibliophiles at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 in the conference room on the second floor of the UI Main Library.
The event is free and open to the public.
Ann Ziegert, a member of the Iowa Bibliophiles, has collected many pieces of Schanilec's work over the years. Much of her collection will be shown at the meeting.
From his base in Wisconsin, Schanilec works with printers and publishers internationally. He is widely recognized as one of the finest wood engravers and printers working today. A writer for the Daily Times of London said of his work, "Everything he does is delectably collectable."
