Resource Development Associates locates at UI's Technology Innovation Center

Resource Development Associates (RDA) is the newest tenant of the Technology Innovation Center (TIC), the University of Iowa’s incubator for new business ventures on the Oakdale Campus.

The company provides Internet and computer software for healthcare management systems. At its meeting Sept. 18-19, the Board of Regents, State of Iowa approved the RDA's lease of Suite 31 in the TIC.

RDA will offer software for inventory management, surgical instrumentation repair tracking, and infusion pump monitoring and tracking. RDA owners say their products and services can help hospitals, clinics, surgery centers, home health care providers and alternative health care organizations contain costs and operate more efficiently. RDA will bundle its services, giving its customers multiple services at a cost savings.

One of RDA's newest products being tested is a new order entry system for medical supplies. Customers can use a Palm OS to scan barcodes on medical products they wish to order and then post the order to RDA via the Internet.

RDA's owners have over 75 years combined experience in the health care services field and in business ownership. The co-owners are: Jerry Hoage of Olathe Kan., president; and shareholders Mike and Kristina Barber of Coralville, Kirk Messier of Iowa City, and Dan Miller of West
Des Moines.

With the addition of Resource Development Associates, the TIC will have 15 tenant companies. Twenty TIC "graduate" firms have expanded their business or met other business goals after leaving the incubator. More than 60 technology companies have been accepted as TIC tenants since the incubator was established in 1984.
