Krispy Kreme sales to benefit Children's Miracle Network
Children's Miracle Network supporters will sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts on
Friday, Oct. 18, from 7 to 11 a.m. in the atrium lobby on the first level
of the John Colloton Pavilion in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Krispy Kreme is donating the doughnuts. The "Original Glazed"
delicacies will cost $1 a piece and $10 per dozen. All proceeds will be donated
to the Children's Miracle Network to benefit patients of Children's Hospital
Following the sale, pediatric patients will decorate additional doughnuts
at 1:30 p.m. in the Activities Therapy Gym on the first level of the John
Children's Miracle Network is an international nonprofit organization dedicated
to generating funds and awareness programs to benefit children treated at
170 children's hospitals throughout the United States and Canada. Its hallmark
is that 100 percent of locally generated donations stay in the local area
to benefit patients at the local children's hospital. To date, Children's
Miracle Network has raised more than $2 billion for children's hospitals.
The network also includes 75 corporate sponsors, 200 television stations and
more than 135 radio stations.
Children's Hospital of Iowa at UI Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City is
the state's longest-serving children's hospital. More than 100,000 children
receive care from pediatric specialists at Children's Hospital of Iowa and
its statewide network of outreach clinics each year.
