'Multicultural Issues In Psychology' Workshop Slated For Nov. 8-9

The University of Iowa College of Education in cooperation with the Center for Credit Programs is offering a workshop over the Iowa Communication Network titled "Multicultural Issues in Psychology and Education" from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday Nov. 8 and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.

Will Liu will present an overview of multicultural issues in counseling and educational environments including racism, immigration patterns, gender socialization, and history. Gender issues relative to boys, men, and masculinity will be areas of particular focus.

The workshop, which will be repeated Nov. 15-16, will be broadcast to the following ICN sites: Bettendorf, Cedar Rapids, Council Bluffs, Creston, Decorah, Des Moines, Fort Dodge, Iowa City, Marshalltown, Mason City, Ottumwa, Peosta, Sheldon, Sioux City, Waterloo and West Burlington.
