Closed circuit video to accommodate additional Bono ticket holders

A live, closed circuit video feed of Bono's sold-out lecture at the University of Iowa on Monday, Dec. 2, will be available in the second-floor ballroom of the Iowa Memorial Union to accommodate additional ticket holders.

Bono, an international humanitarian and lead singer of the rock band U2, will speak at 7 p.m. in the Main Lounge of the IMU. Ticket holders who cannot get into the Main Lounge will be able to watch the lecture via video in the ballroom.

Tickets for the lecture are sold out.

The lecture is being sponsored by the University of Iowa Lecture Committee, SCOPE Productions and Campus Activities Board (CAB) Individuals with special needs are encouraged to attend this and all university events. For additional accommodations, please contact the University Lecture Committee.

In recent years, Bono has brought considerable awareness to the issues of Third World debt relief and the AIDS epidemic. His Dec. 2 lecture will focus on the AIDS epidemic ravaging Africa, and he will likely talk about his experience witnessing the devastation during his recent tour of Africa with U.S. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill.
