University of Iowa dance department presents concert Nov. 22-23

New works by undergraduate- and graduate-student choreographers in the University of Iowa Dance Department will be spotlighted in a concert at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22 and 23, in the Space/Place Theatre of UI North Hall.

The concert -- coordinated by faculty members Basil Thompson, Charlotte Adams and Linda Crist -- will feature both ballet and modern dance, performed by a variety of student ensembles.

Featured in the concert will be "Sintax" by Britt Keel, "A Lady's Guilt" by Maggie Rupprecht, "1986, 1994 and Now," by Dawn Poirier, an untitled dance by Laura Buckholtz, "Within Reach" and "Smooth M.F." by Tony Orrico, "Night Blind" by Dayna Defillippis, "Threshold" by Dan Stark and "Impressions of a Floating Landscape" by Margaret A. Mead-Finizio.

Admission to the Graduate Concert is $10 ($5 for UI students and free for children under 12).

Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 5-9 p.m. Sunday. Any remaining tickets will be on sale at the door.
