Public invited to Nov. 18 seminar on Alzheimer's disease
Area residents are invited to hear University of Iowa Health Care experts discuss Alzheimer's disease from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, in the East Room at UI Hospitals and Clinics.
Antonio R. Damasio, M.D., Ph.D., Maurice Van Allen Professor and head of the UI department of neurology, and the staff of the Memory Disorders Clinic will present, "Managing Alzheimer's Disease: New Developments in Science and Practice." This presentation will include discussion of some of the most recent advances in research and treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
Staff from the Memory Disorders Clinic and the Alzheimer's Association East Central Iowa Chapter will be on hand with informational exhibits from noon to 3 p.m. prior to the seminar. The Memory Disorders Clinic will offer free memory screenings at that time. To register for a screening, call (319) 356-2671.
To attend this event, take Elevator F to the 8th Level of the John Colloton Pavilion at UI Hospitals and Clinics. Pre-registration is not required to attend the seminar.
Following the presentation, the new Dementia Family Education Center in the UI Department of Neurology will be dedicated at 4:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
