David Frederick of Cedar Falls wins dog cookie bouquet at UI Museum of Art

David Fredrick, 5, of Cedar Falls was the lucky winner of the drawing for a dog cookie bouquet at WOW! Family Day at the University of Iowa Museum of Art on Sunday, March 10.

David is the son of Robert and Sarah Frederick of Cedar Falls. A preschooler, he was visiting his grandparents, Steve Selzer and Marietta Hogan of Iowa City, when he came to WOW! Family Day at the museum.

The dog cookie bouquet was designed and created by Cookies by Design in Coralville.

Family Day is the culmination of the museum's Widen Our World (WOW!) program, which brings third-grade students from Iowa City and the surrounding area into the museum. This year, more than 1,200 students from 23 schools visited the UI Museum of Art through the WOW! program.

Family Day is an afternoon of art, music and hands-on activities for children and their families. This year's program featured the exhibition "William Wegman: Fashion Photographs," an exhibition currently on display featuring photographs of Weimaraner dogs modeling designer fashions

WOW! is a collaboration between the Museum of Art and the Iowa City Community School District, with sponsorship from Firstar Bank, Iowa City. Participating students come from the Iowa City Community School District, Regina Elementary and Willowwind School in Iowa City, Lakeview Elementary in Solon, Johnson School of the Arts in Cedar Rapids, Herbert Hoover Elementary in West Branch, Clear Creek Elementary in Oxford and Amana Elementary in Middle Amana.
