The University of Iowa Alumni Association (UIAA ) will test students' knowledge about the UI campus as part of its annual STATvenger Hunt from March 25 to April 5.

STAT (Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow) members are invited to participate in a scavenger hunt on the UI campus. During the course of 12 days STAT members will receive clues via email about the location of the STAT medallion. The first person to find the medallion will receive the grand prize of a $300 shopping spree at Coral Ridge Mall in Coralville. All clues will pertain to the University of Iowa and pinpoint a location on campus that will narrow the location of the medallion.

"This is a great event for STAT members to learn more about the UI campus. With a little bit of research, anyone can win," said Cindy Meis, assistant director of alumni programs.

The clues are sent daily and then posted to the website All answers will be posted April 8.

Last year the medallion was hidden at the "Strike Force" hawk statue near the UI baseball fields. One of the clues, "If you're looking for me in the dark, you could go bump in the night," led STAT member Kelly Robbins to the statue. She knew it was somehow related to Chalmers "Bump" Elliott, UI men's athletic director from June 11, 1970 to July 31, 1999. "Strike Force" was given in honor of Elliott.

STAT is a program of the UIAA designed to help students become familiar with the alumni association prior to graduation. S.T.A.T is one of the largest student organizations on campus with more than 3,000 members.
