Two New Physicians Now Accepting Patients In Belle Plaine

Family practitioner Saleem Shamsee, M.D. and internal medicine physician Kefah Abbas, M.D., recently joined the UI Family Care Center, Belle Plaine and are now accepting patients. Abbas will begin seeing patients on July 1 and Shamsee on July 15.

Abbas completed his residency in internal medicine at Guthrie/Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Penn. He then came to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and recently finished a fellowship in rheumatology. Abbas is board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology, and focuses on caring for adults and adolescents over age 15. He also will be caring for rheumatology patients.

Shamsee completed a transitional residency at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Boston, Mass. Shamsee finished his residency in the UI Department of Family Medicine. He will see patients of all ages and has experience caring for pediatric patients.

Abbas and Shamsee will join Michelle Malloy, advanced registered nurse practitioner, who will continue her pediatric practice.
