Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, CMN is an international non-profit organization dedicated to generating funds and awareness programs to benefit children treated at 170 children's hospitals throughout the United States and Canada. Its hallmark is that 100 percent of locally generated donations stay in the local area to benefit patients at the local children's hospital. To date, CMN has raised more than $2 billion for children's hospitals, including $229 million in 2001 alone. The network also includes 75 corporate sponsors, 200 television stations and more than 135 radio stations.

The Children's Hospital of Iowa at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City is the state's longest-serving children's hospital. More than 100,000 children receive care at the Children's Hospital of Iowa and its statewide network of outreach clinics each year. In 2001, the Children's Hospital of Iowa received almost $2.4 million from CMN.
