Iowa Grants Guide is a new resource for Iowa organizations seeking grants
Iowa-based groups seeking grants can search a new online resource at http://www.iowagrantsguide.org/,
a web database of organizations that fund projects in Iowa.
Over the past year, the University of Iowa Division of Sponsored Programs,
the Iowa Nonprofit Resource Center, and the Iowa Council of Foundations have
been cooperating to establish the Iowa Grants Guide (IGG).
The IGG web site provides information free of charge for and about Iowa's
nonprofit resources, including profiles of foundations, trusts, and corporate,
government and other funding sources in Iowa. The site includes links to funders'
web sites and/or application materials, when available. The Tool Kit section
has information on writing grants, preparing budgets and fund-raising. In
addition, there are links to other sites that may be useful to Iowa grant
"The Iowa Grants Guide provides valuable information and skills for
Iowa nonprofit organizations as they work to strengthen their local communities,"
said Willard "Sandy" Boyd, director of the Iowa Nonprofit Resource
Center and interim UI president, effective Aug. 1.
Organizations that would like to be added to the IGG database, and individuals
who have questions or comments about the database, are invited to contact
Jean Blair at (319) 335-3708 or e-mail email@example.com.
