MEDIA ADVISORY: REUNION FOR COCHLEAR IMPLANT PATIENTS
More than 250 patients, their families and health care specialists will attend
a special reunion for cochlear implant users from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July
14, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Cochlear implants are advanced technology that can help profoundly deaf children
and adults to either recover the ability to hear or to even hear for the first
time. The UI Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery is one of
the world's leading centers in the study and use of cochlear implants.
The cochlear implant reunion will take place on the patio of the John Colloton
Pavilion. If inclement weather occurs, the event will be held in the East
Room on the 8th level of the same pavilion. For more information about the
reunion or cochlear implants, please contact Shelly Witt at (319) 356-3969.
