UI Maia Quartet cellist is Feb. 1 God at Iowa forum speaker

Amos Yang, lecturer at the University of Iowa's School of Music and a member of the Maia Quartet, will be the guest speaker at the Friday, Feb. l Finding God at Iowa lunch forum designed for faculty, staff and graduate students. The forum will begin at noon in River Room 1, Iowa Memorial Union and is open to the public.

Yang earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in music from the Julliard School of Music. His numerous awards include first prizes in both the American String Teacher's Association Competition and the Grace Vamos Cello Competition. He was also a finalist in Wigmore Hall's Pierre Fournier International Cello Competition. Now in its fifth year, the Finding God at Iowa forum is a program of the Geneva Campus Ministry at the University of Iowa designed to complement the popular Geneva Lecture Series, which brings renowned speakers to the UI campus to address a wide range of topics from a Judeo-Christian perspective.
