Everett re-elected to nursing honor society post

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Linda Q. Everett, Ph.D., associate director and chief nursing officer of University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, recently won re-election to the office of treasurer of one of the world's largest nursing organizations.

Sigma Theta Tau International, Nursing Honor Society, first elected Everett as its treasurer in November 1999. At its 36th Biennial Convention in Indianapolis, the group re-elected Everett to another two-year term as its treasurer. The international organization has more than 240,000 inducted members.

Everett directs the Department of Nursing Services and Patient Care at UI Hospitals and Clinics. The department consists of almost 1,400 nursing professionals. Everett joined the staff of UI Health Care in January 1999.
