UI researchers seeking men and women for cholesterol study
Men and women, ages 21-65, who have elevated cholesterol are invited to
take part in a study being conducted at the University of Iowa College of
The study will measure the effectiveness of a new investigational medication
on lowering triglyceride levels, compared with TRICOR, an approved medication
for lowering cholesterol. Participants will be asked to make nine visits to
the UI Lipid Research Clinic over the course of 18 weeks, with most visits
one to three weeks apart. Qualified participants will receive a physical exam,
ECG, blood work evaluation, nutrition counseling and study medication. Compensation
will be provided.
