UI HEALTH CARE TO BREAK GROUND DEC. 13 FOR
CENTER OF EXCELLENCE IN IMAGE-GUIDED RADIATION THERAPY
University of Iowa officials will conduct a ceremonial groundbreaking for
the planned Center of Excellence in Image-Guided Radiation Therapy at 2 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 13 on the future site of the facility at UI Hospitals and Clinics.
The groundbreaking event will occur on the east side of Hawkins Drive just
across from the south end zone of Kinnick Stadium. Parking will be available
in the hard surfaced lot adjacent to the Pomerantz Family Pavilion. A "mult"
box will be provided for media representatives.
Following its planned completion in the summer of 2004, the $39.6 million
Center of Excellence in Image-Guided Radiation Therapy will enhance the ability
of specialists to provide state-of-the-art care for cancer patients from across
Iowa and the nation, as well as around the world.
