Volunteers needed at the Women’s Resource and Action Center

The Women's Resource and Action Center is seeking volunteers to work as referral advocates and special projects volunteers. Advocates provide information about services available at the Women's Center and in the community. Special projects volunteers help with various events and activities that take place throughout the year.

A four-part training series for volunteers will be held at the center, 130 N. Madison St., on the following schedule:

Wednesday, Sept. 4 -- 6-8:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 11 -- 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 12 -- 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 18 -- 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Advocate coordinator, Shane Orr, explains: "At the Women's Resource and Action Center people can get involved on many different levels, so there is a unique, personalized experience for each volunteer."
