Y105 to broadcast first annual radiothon to support Children's Miracle
Radio personalities Chris and Rachel of Y105 FM will host their first radiothon
to support the Children's Miracle Network Sept. 3-7 at Kennedy Mall in Dubuque.
Proceeds of the event will benefit patients of the Children's Hospital of
Iowa at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City and its outreach
clinics. One hundred percent of all donations to the radiothon remain in the
local region to benefit critically ill and injured children. More than 100,000
children receive care at the Children's Hospital of Iowa each year, including
thousands from the tri-state area.
"We recently visited the Children's Hospital of Iowa," Chris said.
"We are eager to do what we can to support the tremendously important
work that goes on there every day."
"You can't meet the kids and their families and not be moved by their
courage and spirit in the face of all of the challenges that confront them,"
added co-host Rachel.
The radiothon will air from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 3-6. The program will
run from 6 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 7. Chris and Rachel will share
the stories of former and current patients of the Children's Hospital of Iowa
and the dedicated physicians, nurses and other health care professionals who
care for them.
