Women's Resource and Action Center offers workshop on personal finance

The Women's Resource and Action Center along with the Iowa Women's Foundation and the Iowa City Public Library will offer the first workshop in their 2002-03 Women and Money series. The workshop, focusing on personal finance, will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19 in Meeting Room A at the Iowa City Public Library.

Rita Rawson of American Express Financial Advisors Inc. will be the presenter. Rawson is a Financial Adviser and Manager with American Express. She is a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) and has worked for five years in the financial planning industry.

Although the workshops in this series were developed for women, everyone is welcome to attend. The series is designed for participants of all income levels. Seating and materials for workshops may be limited, so pre-registration is strongly encouraged.

The next workshop in the Women and Money series will be "Ethical Consumption" on Thursday, Oct. 17.
