Women's Resource and Action Center to host open house

The Women's Resource and Action Center at the University of Iowa will sponsor its annual open house from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28. The Center is located at 130 N. Madison St. directly across from the Iowa Memorial Union and is wheelchair accessible. There will be tours of the building, refreshments, door prizes and opportunities to meet staff members and learn about the services and activities offered by the center. There will also be a brief ceremony recognizing staff member Linda Kroon for her 10 years of service at the Center.

Founded in 1971, The Women's Resource and Action Center is one of the oldest university-based women's centers in the United States. Among its services – which are available to UI students, faculty and staff and to the general public – are information and referral, advocacy, support and discussion groups, individual counseling and a wide variety of educational programs including seminars, workshops, festivals and discussions.
