Illustrator leads walk at Palisades-Kepler State Park

In conjunction with the May release of "Woodland in Your Pocket: A Guide to Common Woodland Plants of the Midwest," illustrator Mark Müller will host a walk in the Palisades Kepler-State Park on Saturday, May 4 at 2 p.m. "Woodland in Your Pocket" (University of Iowa Press) features color drawings showcasing 59 native Midwestern woodland species, providing their common and scientific names, blooming dates, and heights in one user-friendly laminated fold-out guide. Walkers should meet at the1st Shelter (located in Linn County off Highway 30, 12 miles east of Cedar Rapids and 4 miles west of Mt. Vernon).

Copies of "Woodland in Your Pocket" will be available for $9.95 at the walk on May 4, at local bookstores, or by calling 800-621-2736.

Müller has sketched and photographed the natural world from Alaska to Antarctica. He is currently a free-lance illustrator living on a farmstead near Iowa City.
