Speaker to discuss professional doctorate for nurses Oct. 2

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Carolyn A. Williams, Ph.D., dean of nursing at the University of Kentucky and president of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, will discuss "The Doctorate of Nursing Practice, an Alternative for Leadership Development in Clinical Nursing" in a public lecture at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 in the Iowa Memorial Union’s R. Wayne Richey Ballroom.

Williams is a past president of the American Academy of Nursing and also chaired the American Nurses Association's Commission on Nursing Research. Her talk is sponsored by the University of Iowa College of Nursing's Biobehavioral Nursing Area of Study and is free and open to the public.
