UI Arts Share Program will present a piano recital at Meth-Wick in Cedar Rapids

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa Arts Share program will present a piano recital by Rose Chancler for the Meth-Wick Community Manor at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov 30. The recital is funded by a grant from Alliant Energy Corporation.

Chancler, a visiting faculty member at the UI School of Music, holds a degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, where she studied with Rebecca Penneys. She has held teaching positions at various universities and performed both as a soloist and a collaborative artist in Europe and the United States. Chancler has also been a faculty accompanist and teacher at the Chautauqua Institution.

The piano recital at the Meth-Wick Community Manor will feature work by Bach, Chopin and Rachmaninoff, as well as other composers.

The UI Arts Share program provides artistic resources from the Iowa Center for the Arts to schools and community organizations. The 2000 Arts Share roster includes more than 70 faculty and graduate students in music, theater, dance, the visual arts and creative writing. Arts Share is part of the Division of Performing Arts in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
