UI Department of Public Safety investigates campus
The Department of Public Safety at the University
of Iowa is investigating a robbery that took place on the bike path near the
railroad tunnel south of the Fine Arts Complex on the west side of the Iowa
river on Oct. 31 at approximately 7:15 a.m.
There were two attackers. The first suspect is described
as a white male, 20-23 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches tall, approximately
180 pounds, with dark hair, brown eyes, and clean shaven. At the time of the
robbery he was wearing a dark green stocking cap, a black T-shirt, a black
leather jacket with silver studs on the sleeves and very baggy cargo jeans.
He also had a wallet chain dangling down his left thigh.
The second suspect is described as a white male, 20-25
years old, 6 feet 5 inches tall, approximately 200 pounds, with blond goatee
and sideburns, light eyes, with a sliver earring in his left ear. At the time
of the robbery he was wearing a black stocking cap, a gray and black down
coat, trousers, and brown hiking boots.
A weapon was reported to be involved; however, the victim
was unharmed. UI Department of Public Safety is asking anyone who may have
information regarding the robbery to contact Detective Gordon, at (319) 335-5022.
