IOWA CITY, Iowa -- University of Iowa Health Care's DeGowin Blood Donor Center, currently located on the ground floor of the General Hospital, is moving to a new location on the second floor of the General Hospital at UI Hospitals and Clinics.

The center's current location was closed Tuesday, May 29, and the relocated center will open for business on Monday, June 4. During the interim, all donors are being served at the DeGowin Blood Center's eastside Iowa City location at 1130 Scott Blvd.

To access the DeGowin Blood Donor Center's new location, take elevator "B" to the second floor of General Hospital. Signs have been installed to provide directions to the center's new facilities.

The DeGowin Blood Center helps transfuse about 33,000 blood products per year for inpatients at UI Hospitals and Clinics. Blood is collected at the center's two permanent collection sites, as well as at mobile blood drives throughout the community. To make an appointment, call (319) 356-8327.
