Averbach joins UI Family Care, Sigourney

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Richard Averbach, M.D., will begin practicing at UI Family Care, Sigourney, on Wednesday, May 30. He is currently practicing at the UI Family Care clinic in Ottumwa.

A fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Averbach has practiced family medicine since1977 and in southeastern Iowa since 1982. He graduated from the Medical College of Ohio in 1974; he completed his post-graduate training at the Medical College of Ohio in 1976; and he was clinical assistant professor in family medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine from 1982 to 1984. Most recently, he has practiced in Fairfield, Ottumwa, and Washington, Iowa.

"Dr. Averbach's addition to UI Family Care, Sigourney expands our ability to provide quality care to patients from the Sigourney community," said Terry Protextor, executive director for the UI Family Care network. "We welcome Dr. Averbach to the UI Family Care, Sigourney medical staff."
