Alumni Association, UI Health Care sponsor program on sleep disorders

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa Alumni Association and University of Iowa Health Care are co-sponsoring a program on sleep disorders at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at the Holiday Inn University Plaza, 5826 University Avenue, Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Mark Eric Dyken, assistant professor in the Department of Neurology and director of the Sleep Disorder Center at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, will highlight some examples of sleep disorders, including sleep apnea. He will discuss one of the important reasons for these problems -- Americans are undereducated in regard to sleep disorder medicine and, therefore, are under-treated.

The Thursday evening program is free and open to the public. For more information, or to register, contact the UI Alumni Association at 1-800-IOWALUM (469-2586) and see its website at
