UI hosts Occupational Health Symposium March 29-30
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa will host a symposium on issues
related to occupational health March 29-30 at the Iowa Memorial Union in Iowa
The third annual "Occupational Health Symposium: Caring for Workers
in the Heartland" will provide information regarding health and safety
regulations, workplace illnesses and injuries, health-care delivery and management
issues. The event is intended for occupational medicine physicians, occupational
health nurses, industrial hygienists, health safety professionals, administrators
and human resource professionals.
In addition to the two-day symposium, two pre-symposium courses will be
offered March 26-28. Participants will receive continuing education credits
for enrollment in a pre-symposium course. "Comprehensive Review Course
for Occupational Health Nurses" is designed for experienced nurses preparing
for the certified occupational health nurse or certified occupational health
nurse-specialist examinations. A second course, "Indoor Air Quality:
Microbiological Aspects," will offer an overview of bioaerosols found
