University of Iowa Faculty Exhibition on view at the UI Museum of Art beginning April 7

IOWA CITY, Iowa-- "Faculty Exhibition 2001," the University of Iowa School of Art and Art History’s 18th biennial exhibition of work by studio faculty, will be on view in the UI Museum of Art from Saturday, April 7 through Sunday, June 24.

An opening reception for the exhibition will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 6 in the Museum of Art.

For the 2001 faculty exhibition, several of the museum’s galleries will be installed with art objects selected by faculty members to represent the best of their recent work. These works will represent media taught in the UI School of Art and Art History, including printmaking, painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, sculpture, metalsmithing, jewelry, design, papermaking and intermedia.

The School of Art and Art History faculty has exhibited work both nationally and internationally.

"Faculty Exhibition 2001" is sponsored by the UI Community Credit Union.

The UI Museum of Art, located on North Riverside Drive in Iowa City, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free. Public metered parking is available in UI parking lots across from the museum on Riverside Drive, and adjacent to the UI Alumni Center, which is just north of the museum.
