UI professors to discuss 'Growing Up Baltic' June 26

Two University of Iowa professors originally from the Baltics will talk about their lives before coming to the U.S. during a panel discussion Tuesday, June 26 at 3:30 p.m. in 205 Phillips Hall. Roland Racevskis, an assistant professor of French and Italian in the College of Liberal Arts and Vilia Tarvydas, an associate professor of counselor education in the College of Education, will speak on "Growing Up Baltic," discussing the implications of growing up in a Baltic nation and some commentary of its effect on living in the United States today. The presentation will have a question-and-answer format.

This event is part of the 8th Annual Baltic Studies Summer Institute hosted this summer by the UI Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies (CREEES). For more information, contact Blythe Burkhardt at 335-1436.
