Provost Whitmore elected chair of NASULGC council

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- UI Provost Jon Whitmore has been elected chair of the Council on Academic Affairs of the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges (NASULGC) by the council’s executive committee. The council is the primary organization within NASULGC for major state university provosts.

Founded in 1887, NASULGC is the nation's oldest higher education association. A voluntary association of public universities, land-grant institutions and many of the nation's public university systems, NASULGC campuses are located in all 50 states, the U.S. territories and the District of Columbia.

Whitmore will assume his duties at the Nov. 11 meeting of NASULGC in Washington, D.C.
