UI Staff Development features new Fall Seminar Series
IOWA CITY, IowaThe University of Iowa Office of Staff Development is
featuring a new set of seminars designed to address common workplace challenges.
Speakers from National Seminars Group will return to present strategies and
skill-building techniques for improving organizational morale and effectiveness.
The Fall Seminar Series features five new sessions, beginning with "Cultivating
Winning AttitudesHow to Handle Negativity in the Workplace" on
Wednesday, Aug. 29. "How to Develop Highly Effective Marketing Plans
and Competitive Strategies" will be Thursday, Sept. 20, followed by "Coaching,
Mentoring, & Team-Building Skills for Supervisors, Managers, & Team
Leaders" on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 30-31. "Thinking Outside
the LinesCreative Strategies for the Workplace" will be Tuesday,
Nov. 20. The series concludes on Tuesday, Dec. 4 with "Building Budgeting

The fee for each daylong seminar is $99; the two-day session in October is
$199. Those who register for three or more seminars in the fall series are
eligible for a 10 percent discount.
