Graduate College Commencement attendees reminded of RAGBRAI traffic

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- People attending University of Iowa's Graduate College commencement scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, July 27 at Hancher Auditorium should be aware of possible traffic near the RAGBRAI route through Coralville and Iowa City.

Traffic coming into Iowa City and Coralville from the west will likely be slowed, so commencement attendees should allow for extra time to get to the ceremonies and also should consider alternate routes.

RAGBRAI bicyclists are expected to start arriving in Coralville and Iowa City at about 11 a.m. on Melrose Avenue to Hawkeye Road through the Hawkeye Court Apartments area, which is the detour for construction on Mormon Trek Boulevard. The route continues on 1st Avenue and to 5th Street, to 18th Avenue to 8th Street, arriving at the overnight campsite at S.T. Morrison Park in Coralville.
