Iowa Black Alumni Association holds Black History Celebration

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The Black Alumni Association (IBAA) at the University of Iowa will sponsor a Black History Celebration at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 in the R. Wayne Richie Ballroom of the Iowa Memorial Union. The event is free and open to the public.

The program begins with a 7 p.m. reception that features a performance by the Voices of Soul choir and presentations at 7:30 p.m. by Horace A. Porter, chair, African American World Studies Program; William Welburn, assistant dean, Graduate College; Gia Mason, president, Black Student Union; and Theodore S. Wheeler, president of the IBAA.
