Walz to discuss Mexican street vendors Feb. 12

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Tom Walz, emeritus professor of social work in the University of Iowa College of Liberal Arts, will speak on "Street Vendors in Mexico: Small Enterprise Developments in a Global Economy," at noon Monday, Feb. 12 in the International Center Lounge. This lecture, part of the International Mondays series, is free and open to the public.

Although he is a professor emeritus, Walz continues to teach his course on Gandhian thought. A former director of the Peace Corps in Honduras, Walz has spent time living and working in the poorer countries of the world, including Honduras, Mexico, India and Russia. A free international luncheon will be served.
