(NOTE TO EDITORS: "Riverdance" has been selling several hundred
tickets per day -- which, of course, cant go on forever. Several of
the performances are closing in on sell-outs. Before you go with this story,
you should probably give a call to the box office for the most up-to-the-minute

'Riverdance' sets new Hancher Auditorium ticket-sales-revenue record before
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- "Riverdance -- The Show," which will be performed
eight times May 2-6 in the University of Iowa Hancher Auditorium, has already
set the auditoriums all-time ticket-sales-revenue record. At the end
of sales on April 25, the Hancher box office reported that "Riverdance"
ticket revenues stood at $864,328 -- easily eclipsing the $825,571 in gross
ticket sales for the most recent run of the musical "Les Miserables."
The first run of "Rent" slipped to third place, with a final total
of $804,280 in ticket sales.
At the closing of the box office on April 25, a few tickets were still available
for each "Riverdance" performance, with by far the best selection
of seats available for the Thursday matinee. Performances will be at 8 p.m.
Wednesday, May 2; at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday, May 3; at 8 p.m. Friday,
May 4; at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday, May 5; and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday,

Company and Dahl Ford of Davenport, Inc., through the University of Iowa Foundation.
Tickets for the Wednesday and Thursday performances are $55, $45 and $30
($49.50, $40.50 and $27 for UI students). All tickets for the Friday, Saturday
and Sunday performances are $60, $50 and $35.
Box office hours are 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays.
