Health Fair 2000 is scheduled for Oct. 4 at UI Field House
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Health Fair 2000 will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday,
Oct. 4 on the Main Deck of the University of Iowa Field House.
A free event held biannually at the UI since 1993, the fair gives campus
and community members the opportunity to gain information on a variety of
current health-related issues. This year's theme is "Survive and Thrive
with Health Fair 2000." The event is sponsored by Health Iowa/UI Student
Health Service and the UI department of health, leisure, and sports studies.
The health fair will feature booths from Health Iowa, the Student Health
Service, University of Iowa Health Care and campus/community agencies. Body
fat testing, fitness assessments and other health-related screenings will
be available. A local massage therapist and representatives from Habitat for
Humanity and the Humane Society also will be at the event. Students may charge
flu shots to their U-bill during the fair. A blood drive will take place during
the entire fair.
