UI offers Master of Social Work in Quad Cities; information session is Sept. 27

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa School of Social Work is recruiting students for the Master of Social Work (MSW) Program at its Quad Cities Center. The next group of students in the part-time, three-year program will begin classes in August 2001, with applications due by Feb. 1.

Anyone interested in learning more about the program may attend an MSW Program Information session conducted by UI School of Social Work faculty and staff. Upcoming sessions will be Sept. 27, Oct. 25, and Nov. 29 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Room 149 Sorenson Hall, Augustana College, Rock Island, Ill.

With the exception of two prerequisite courses, students may complete the entire program in the Quad Cities Graduate Study Center located at Augustana College. Students register for an average of two courses each semester, including summers, and complete the degree in three years.

The UI School of Social Work is committed to preparing practitioners and scholars with a commitment to social justice. Students from diverse backgrounds and those who are interested in cross-cultural perspectives are encouraged to apply.

Some elective courses, offered throughout the three years, are open to non-degree seeking students who have already earned bachelor's degrees.
