Finding God at Iowa Forum features UI Professor Nancy Thompson

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Nancy Thompson, associate professor, University of Iowa College of Public Health, will speak at the Friday, Dec. 1 Finding God at Iowa Forum, which will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in River Room 1 of the Iowa Memorial Union. The forum is free and open to the public.

The monthly forum is designed to stimulate open discussion among UI members on the relevance of the Judeo-Christian faith to the academic endeavor.

Thompson received a doctorate in socio-medical sciences from Columbia University prior to joining the dental hygiene faculty at the UI in 1980. She received the UI Senior Dental Hygiene Faculty of the Year award in 1981 and serves as a consultant to various national professional organizations, including the National Board of Dental Examiners.

The Finding God at Iowa Lunch Forum is a program of the Geneva Campus Ministry at the UI and is a complement to the popular Geneva Lecture Series, which brings speakers to the campus to speak on a range of topics from a Judeo-Christian perspective.
