Thieves' Market resumes with Dec. 2-3 sales

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Thieves' Market, the regularly scheduled exhibition and sale of art, handmade sculptures, paintings and other artworks by artisans from across the country, will be Dec. 2-3 in the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union at the University of Iowa. Admission is free.

More than 90 artists will exhibit and sell their original work, which include photography, woodworking, and jewelry beginning Saturday, Dec. 2 from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

One piece, the "Patron Prize," will be selected and given away at the close of the Market; no purchase or fee is required to win the "Patron Prize."

The Thieves' Markets are coordinated and sponsored by the UI Fine Arts Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts at the UI.
