Poster session Dec. 5 focuses on second language learning

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The public is invited to a research poster session on second language acquisition and foreign language teaching and learning on Tuesday, Dec. 5 from 3-5 p.m. in the International Center Lounge on the University of Iowa campus. The event is sponsored by Foreign Language Acquisition Research and Education (FLARE).

Faculty and students will use posters to display their research on such topics as classroom language learning, the use of technology in language learning, second language teaching, second language acquisition by children and much more.

The faculty and student presenters will be available to talk with guests and other researchers on an informal basis. There will be no formal presentations, and drop-ins are welcome. Refreshments will be provided.

FLARE is a constituent unit of University of Iowa International Programs that administers the Second Language Acquisition Ph.D. in conjunction with the UI Graduate College.

International Programs consist of a number of offices, centers, degree programs, academic programs, research projects and services. Organized under the associate provost and dean for International Programs, these units serve to further internationalize the campus and community and promote global scholarship, research and teaching.
