Area residents invited to cancer seminar in Ottumwa Jan. 18

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Ottumwa area residents are invited to attend a free health seminar, "Families and Cancer: Working on Life," from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, 1001 East Pennsylvania Ave., Conference Rooms A, B and C.

David Rosenthal, Ph.D., director of Counseling and Health Promotion Services at the University of Iowa Family Care Center, will discuss the emotional effects of living with cancer -- the daily struggle with the disease and how those who have been diagnosed, as well as their family and friends, can support one another in managing the stress.

The seminar is sponsored by Ottumwa Regional Health Center and Medical Oncology Hematology of Ottumwa, an affiliate of UI Health Care. For more information or to register for the seminar, contact the Ottumwa Regional Health Center at (641) 684-2405.
