UI hosts college planning program in Sioux City area

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Sioux City and western Iowa high school students and their parents are invited to learn more about the University of Iowa and college education planning at PreView Iowa 2000, hosted by the UI Office of Admissions. The program starts with registration and a reception at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16 at the Hilton Hotel, 707 Fourth St., Sioux City.

PreView Iowa 2000 is open to juniors and seniors in Woodbury and surrounding counties, and students in neighboring South Dakota and Nebraska communities. High school counselors in the area are invited to join the Office of Admissions for a High School Counselor Informational Breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m., Friday, Nov. 17 at the Hilton Hotel.

PreView Iowa 2000 features a 7 p.m. showing of the Iowa Experience, a multimedia video about student life and services at the UI followed by information on the admissions, housing and financial aid processes, and a question-and-answer panel with current UI students and alumni.

Staff from the Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Engineering, Academic Advising, and current UI students will also be available to talk one-on-one with prospective students and their families.
