UI hosts education planning program in Des Moines area

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Des Moines and central Iowa high school students and their parents are invited to learn more about the University of Iowa and college education planning at PreView Iowa 2000, hosted by the UI Office of Admissions. The program starts with registration and a reception at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20 at the Marriott Hotel, 1250 74th St., West Des Moines.

PreView Iowa 2000 is open to juniors and seniors in Polk and surrounding counties. High school counselors in the area are invited to join the Office of Admissions for a High School Counselor Reception from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Marriott Hotel.

PreView Iowa 2000 features a 7 p.m. showing of the Iowa Experience, a multimedia video about student life and services at the UI followed by information on the admissions, housing and financial aid processes, and a question-and-answer panel with current UI students and alumni.

Staff from the offices of Admissions, Student Financial Aid, Career Services, Academic Advising, and Opportunity at Iowa, and representatives from the Colleges of Business, Engineering, Law, Medicine, and Pharmacy will also be available to talk one-on-one with prospective students and their families.
