Women's Center offers small business workshop
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The Women's Resource & Action Center (WRAC) and the
Iowa Women's Foundation (IWF) will present "Financing a Business"
Thursday, June 1 from 6-9 p.m. in Room W401 of the Pappajohn Business Building.
Women of all income levels and business knowledge are invited to attend this
free workshop co-sponsored by the Small Business Development Center.
Christine Pacek, associate director of the University of Iowa Small Business
Development Center, will discuss a variety of issues related to financing
a small business. Pacek will show participants how to ensure adequate financing
for their business and discuss factors considered by loan officers evaluating
business plans, as well as the benefits of special loans and state assistance
for women and minority business owners.
This workshop is the third in a series of seminars on business development.
The "Women and Money: Putting the Pieces Together" workshops are
made possible in part by support from the Johnson County Area Women's Network
(JCAWN) and the Altrusa Club of Iowa City.
