IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa Martha Ellen Tye Opera Theater will hold auditions for men to perform in the summer production, Gilbert and Sullivan's "Yeomen of the Guard," which will be performed July 14-16 in Clapp Recital Hall.

Men are needed for four named roles in the operetta and for the chorus. Auditions are scheduled by appointment. Interested singers should contact Lawrence Reppert at (319) 688-9883 or by e-mail at <>.

Singers should come to the auditions prepared to sing an aria from opera or operetta, or a legitimate song from the standard classical repertory. Additional details on the audition are available from Reppert.

The UI production of "Yeomen of the Guard" will be directed by Sally Stunkel, director of the Opera Theater. William LaRue Jones, director of the University Symphony, will conduct the performances.
